Do you feel overwhelmed by family, work, the weather, or too many 'should do's and must do's?
Reiki is a very relaxing, calming and restorative therapy, not only for busy family members of all ages, but also for sports-people and business-owners and employees alike. It helps, not only to take time out for yourself to completely relax, but also helps to focus on what really matters in life. When you reduce your stress levels, your body has a better chance of healing itself.
Are you a therapist yourself, feeling low in energy levels and needing a boost? Take care of yourself with a nourishing Reiki session to re-boot your own energy system.
What is it?
Reiki translates into ‘Universal Life Giving Energy,’ and is a holistic therapy, which is believed to support self-healing on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. A safe, comforting and natural way to help to reduce stress, promote good health and coping strategies. Suitable from babies to the elderly.
Reiki evolved from the work by Mikao Usui in Japan around 90 years ago. Working in conjunction with meridian energy lines and chakras, it is believed that ‘energy’ is channelled through a practitioner’s hands, and drawn into the recipient wherever the practitioner’s hands are placed. Warmth from my hands may bring relief to aching joints or promote deep relaxation. Reiki does not interfere with mainstream medicine or other therapies. A sense of relaxation and calm may help to relieve stress, help with sleep, or be energising, and where stress is relieved this may assist the body’s own natural healing processes.
Reiki is not a 'cure-all' and as we are all different, we have no way of knowing how Reiki will affect individuals. However, many people report feeling very calm and focused after treatments, with a shifting of emotional blocks and stress, as they discover ways of being more creative in improving their life.
A course of four weekly sessions, followed by twice-monthly, then monthly treatments are a popular choice for this deeply relaxing therapy.
What happens during a Reiki session?
You will be invited to lie on a couch, and having removed your shoes, you just relax, and you may find you even drift off to sleep. You may feel warmth, or tingling in your body, sensing colours or nothing at all. It really doesn't matter - just because you felt no sensations doesn't mean it hasn't 'worked.' Reiki will always provide your body with whatever it needs, as you take what your body needs. As a practitioner I do not have any influence over what you receive - I am merely a conduit for the energy.
Would you like to learn Reiki for self-use or to be a Practitioner?
I teach the 'Reiki Evolution' Method, which I believe is the simplest, purest and closest method to the original method as taught by Mikao Usui himself, and unaffected by much of the myths of present day understanding of Reiki. It is based upon Empowerments, but my courses also include 'Attumements' as required by some UK Professional organisations and Western perception of Reiki.
If you want to learn how to use Reiki on yourself, family and friends, then Reiki Level 1 is for you.
If you want to progress to being a Reiki Practitioner, then Reiki Level 2 is the next step.
Before embarking on either set of courses, you, as a student, are invited to have a session of Reiki with me to experience this energy and how I work. My courses come with comprehensive manuals and a cd for home study before the actual course, so that you can enjoy the learning and practice and feel so much more confident about your ability in using Reiki.
